Project developed for the Wolkswagen group automotive company SEAT, with the goal of developing a 17" car alloy rim that fits into a standard SEAT Ibiza five-bolt axel socket.
The wheel had to be capable of withstandin all the forces involved in any car ride, no matter how tough, with a specified safety margin, and to fall within the specified tolerances in all the dimensional measurements. Its design also takes into account the fabrication process, the de-moldability, the aluminum alloy used, the manufacturing costs... resulting in a package of fabrication-ready plans.
Below is shown a sampling of some of the structural analysis applied during the design process, in addition to the final blueprints.
